Admiral SIR Charles Holcombe Dare, K.C.M.G., C.B., M.V.O., Royal Navy, Retired (9 November, 1854 – 6 August, 1924) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Dare was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1900.[1]
He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 12 July, 1909.[2]
Great War
On 7 November, 1914, Dare was granted a temporary commission as Commander in the Royal Naval Reserve.[3]
On 20 February, 1915, Dare was appointed Senior Naval Officer at Milford Haven, and took up the appointment on 26 February.[4] On 5 March he was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List,[5] and to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 25 August, 1918.[6]
