H.M.S. Lark was one of twenty-two destroyers of the Laforey class.
Service
Lark joined the Third Destroyer Flotilla upon completion, one of those supporting the First Fleet. She took part in the Battle off Noordhinder Bank on 1 May, 1915, assisting in the sinking of two German coastal destroyers.
Lark stayed with 3 D.F. through its renaming as the Ninth Destroyer Flotilla in September 1915, by which time its seventeen Laforey class destroyers were part of the Harwich Force.
In March, 1917, Lark was one of nine destroyers sent from 9 D.F. to join the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla, part of the Dover Patrol. She stayed only until April, 1917 when she went to join the First Destroyer Flotilla, which was then a small flotilla operating out of Portsmouth.
Lark reduced to the care of a C. & M. Party at the Nore on 28 November, 1919.[6]
