Admiral SIR Frederick Charles Learmonth, K.B.E., C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (14 January, 1866 – 3 June, 1941) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1900.[1]
Learmonth was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 11 March, 1918, vice Phipps Hornby.[2]
Post-War
He was placed on the Retired List at his own request, "in order to facilitate the promotion of younger officers", on 8 March, 1921.[3]
Learmonth was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 8 October, 1923.[4] In the King's Birthday Honours of 3 June, 1925, Learmonth was promoted Knight Commander of the Military Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.[5] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 1 August, 1927.[6]
