H.M.S. L 27 was one of thirty-five "L" class submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

In early 1929, she was with the Fourth Submarine Flotilla on the China Station.[6]

Completed to full complement at Chatham on 20 January, 1931. By mid-1931, she had been transferred to the Second Submarine Flotilla.[7]
