Commander Harold Raymond Thrupp, R.N. (15 June, 1884 – 5 October, 1948) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Thrupp ranked sixty-first among 62 successful candidates in examinations for entry to the Britannia intake term of September 1899, with 2088 marks.[1]
Thrupp was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1906.
Thrupp served in Commonwealth from May 1909 to August, 1911, and was the appointed to the destroyer Alarm as first officer. In January 1912 he was placed in Diamond. In April, Captain Henderson recorded that Thrupp was "sullen, reserved. of no great professional attainments." He was superseded in May and sent to serve in Victorious for The Annual Manoeuvres of 1912.
Thrupp was transferred to the Emergency List on 15 November, 1912.
Thrupp was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1914.
Reverted to the Emergency List on 3 September, 1918.
