Lieutenant-Commander Alec Murray Carrie (2 March, 1895 – 12 November, 1895) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of stockbroker George Carrie.

Carrie was promoted to the rank of Midshipman on 15 September, 1912 upon passing out of the Training Establishment.[1] His first ship was the battleship Bellerophon of the First Battle Squadron. He remained in her until being appointed to the destroyer Kale on 2 June, 1915.

On 1 November 1915 he undertook instruction in submarines.

Carrie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1916.

Carrie was appointed in command of the submarine L 5 on 22 July, 1919.[2]

Carrie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1924.

On 24 November, 1924, Carrie was appointed in command of the submarines M 1 and M 2 in reserve.

Carrie died when M 1 foundered on 12 November, 1925.
