Captain Harry Leslie Howden, (4 July, 1896 – 16 February, 1969) served in the Royal Australian Navy.
Life & Career
Howden was born in Wellington, New Zealand.
Howden served in the Royal Naval Reserve from 16 October 1915.[1]
On 5 October 1916 Howden transferred to the Royal Australian Navy, being appointed to the light cruiser Sydney in December 1917.[2]
Howden was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in May, 1927.[2]
Howden was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1938.[2]
World War II
Retired on 4 July 1951.[2]
