William Heriot Maitland-Dougall (b)

Commander (retired) William Heriot Maitland-Dougall, (12 October, 1852 – 3 June, 1916) served in the Royal Navy. He was the son of a R.N. Admiral of the same name, but dropped the name Heriot in March 1888.[1]

Life & Career

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 April, 1876.[2]

After some time in various Coast Guard appointments, Maitland-Dougall was placed on the Retired List and promoted to the rank of Commander on 12 October, 1897.[3]
