Commander (retired) George Augustus Saltren-Willett, Royal Navy (16 October, 1885 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Saltren-Willett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1907.[1]

Saltren-Willett was appointed in command of the submarine C 4 on 15 October, 1912. He left the submarine on the cusp of war on 2 June, 1914 when he received an appointment to join the battleship Marlborough. He returned to submarines when he was appointed to Maidstone for submarines fifteen months later. On 21 December, this became more specific, as he was appointed in command of D 6. Saltren-Willett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1915. On 7 March, 1916, he was sent to Portsmouth, and five days later was appointed into the Minotaur Class armoured cruiser Shannon.[2]

Time in Shannon amounted to just three months, and Saltren-Willett was appointed in command of Hebe and in command of her submarine flotilla.[3]

Post-War

Saltren-Willett was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 30 April, 1927.[4]
