Viper Class Submarine (1906)

Three Viper class submarines[1] were completed for the U.S. Navy in 1907. On 17 November, 1911, they would be redesignated the "B" class and given names B-1 through B-3, not to be confused with submarines of Britain's "B" class.

In 1916, all three B class boats were stationed in the Philippines along with six A class boats.[2]
