John Stewart Gordon Fraser
Rear-Admiral John Stewart Gordon Fraser, C.B.E., D.S.O., Royal Navy (19 January, 1883 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Fraser was born in Shyamnagar, India and raised by his uncle Dr. J. J. Fraser, who worked as a tea planter.[1]
Fraser was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1905.[2]
Fraser was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 September, 1913.[3]
Fraser was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1916.[4]
Post-war
Fraser was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1923.[5]
Fraser was appointed in command of the light cruiser Lowestoft in March, 1925.
In December, 1925, he was appointed in command of the light cruiser Champion.
Fraser was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 26 August, 1935 and placed on the Retired List the next day.[6]
He was mobilised on 27 September, 1938.
