Commander (retired) Joseph Hugh Langdon Yorke, R.N. (20 September, 1888 – 16 July, 1936) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in New Zealand.
Yorke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1910.[1]
Yorke was appointed in command of the destroyer Skate on 2 July, 1917.[2]
Yorke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1918.[3]
Post-War
On 5 February, 1920, he was appointed in command of the destroyer Trinidad.[4]
Yorke was superseded in command of the Template:UK-Darmouth in May, 1928 and placed on the Retired List with the rank of Commander, being medically unfit due to sclerosis on 22 October, 1928.[5]
