Commander Harold William Fawcett, O.B.E., R.N., Retired (10 February, 1891 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of a wool merchant Fawcett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 January, 1913.

On 1 September 1918, Fawcett was sent to H.M.S. Sarepta for instruction in Hydrophones.

Post-War

Fawcett would spend much of 1920 being instructed in anti-submarine warfare before being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 January, 1921.

Fawcett was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 6 February, 1923.

Fawcett was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 10 February, 1931.

World War II

Mobilised 29 September 1938.

Reverted to the Retired List on 11 October 1945.
