Admiral SIR Charles George Fane, K.C.B., J.P., Royal Navy (14 November, 1837 – 22 February, 1909) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
He was appointed Captain Superintendent of Sheerness Dockyard on 1 June, 1888.[1]
Fane was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 5 August, 1890, vice Rowley.[2]
On the occasion of the King Edward VII's birthday Fane was appointed a Knight Commander in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 9 November, 1901.[3]
Fane was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 24 January, 1902, vice Tracey.[4] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, he was placed on the Retired List at his own request the following day.[5]
