H.M.S. Derby was one of one hundred and fourteen Hunt Class minesweepers completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
After paying off to a C. & M. Party 17 October, 1924,[7] Derby completed to Reserve Complement on 22 November, 1924.[8]
Recommissioned with Reserve Complement on 26 September, 1929.[9]
Re-commissioned in Reserve at Malta on 13 January, 1937. She became part of the Second Minesweeping Flotilla on the China Station.[10]
