H.M.S. Sterlet was one of sixty-two "S" Class submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

On 22 February 1939, Sterlet dragged her anchors while moored 5.9 cables off Sandown Pier Light. Lieutant-in-Command Richard Michael Eames Pain and Lt. Carol Wiliam Phipson Lee, who had had the watch at the time, were Court-Martialed in the aftermath.^[1]
