Captain (retired) Brian Patrick MacMahon, R.N. (11 December, 1882 – 3 May, 1945) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
MacMahon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1904.
MacMahon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1912.
Early in the war, MacMahon served in Benbow. In June, 1916, he was moved to Hercules, additional, on the staff of Vice-Admiral Browning.
MacMahon was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1917.
In April 1918, MacMahon was the Managing Director of the "Abadaba [N word] Minstrel Troupe" which performed a racially-charged variety show aboard H.M.S. Hercules.[1] He left the ship in May to take up a post in the Plans Division.
MacMahon was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 31 January, 1929.
World War II
Reverted to the Retired List as medically unfit on 5 February 1943.
