H.M.S. Eclipse was one of eighteen "E" and "F" Class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Eclipse was mobilized in August 1914 for service with Cruiser Force G (Twelfth Cruiser Squadron)covering the Western Approached to the English Channel[3]. With her squadron sent to Halifax as close escort for the Canadian Troop Convoy to the UK on 11th September 1914, which arrived in Plymouth on 13th October 1914.[4] Temporary Flagship for the Squadron whilst Euryalus was refitting from 31st October 1914.[5] Eclipse was paid off and disarmed at Devonport in March 1915..[6]
