Service
Renown was completed in September, 1916, too late to participate in the Battle of Jutland. She never saw combat in the war, though her sister H.M.S. Repulse fought in the Second Battle of Heligoland Bight.
Renown paid off at Portsmouth on 1 November, 1920.[7]
Paid off into Dockyard Control on 19 July, 1923.[8]
Alterations
Renown was completed with her main battery director in place, but had her secondary battery director system installed in October, 1916 — one month after she entered service.[9]
