Harry Hampson Stileman

Rear-Admiral SIR Harry Hampson Stileman, K.B.E., Royal Navy, Retired (9 August, 1860 – 28 October, 1938) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Stileman was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1898.[1]

Stileman was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1903.[2]

In February 1905, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Vindictive.[3]

In July 1906, he assumed command of the convoy sloop Andromeda.[4]

Stileman was appointed in command of the battleship Majestic some time in 1907,[5] and then of the armoured cruiser Duke of Edinburgh on 9 January, 1908.[6]

Great War

Stileman was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on the Retired List on 2 November, 1914.[7]

On 1 January, 1920, Stileman was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.).[8]

Stileman died after a fall on 28 October, 1938.[9]
