U.S.S. Talbot was one of two Talbot class torpedo boats completed for the U.S. Navy.

Service

Talbot was launched on 14 November, 1897. She was commissioned on 4 April, 1898 with Lieutenant (Junior Grade) William R. Shoemaker in command.
