Alfred Gilmore Alston

Captain (retired) Alfred Gilmore Alston, C.M.G. (10 October, 1868 – ) served in the Royal Navy. He may have entered the service via the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Alston entered the service with the rank of Lieutenant on 31 October, 1895.

Alston was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Commander on 14 May, 1909.

He served as a Transport Officer during the Great War, hopping around quite a bit.

Alston was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) in recognition of war service with seniority of 11 November, 1918.
