Arthur William La Touche Bisset

Vice-Admiral (retired) Arthur William La Touche Bisset, C.B., C.B.E. (6 April, 1892 – 23 June, 1956) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Colonel Sir W. Bisset.

Bisset was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1913. He spent most of the war at H.M.S. Excellent and H.M.S. Vivid, but was appointed to Devonshire as Lieutenant (G) on 22 October 1916. On 31 July 1917 he was appointed to Iron Duke as Lieutenant (G).[1]

Bisset was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1921.[2]

Bisset was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1926.[3]

Bisset was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1932.[4]

World War II

Bisset was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 28 July, 1942.[5]

Bisset was placed on the Retired List on account of ill health on 17 January, 1945 and promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 February, 1946.[6]
