Captain (retired) Clement Cooper Horne, C.B.E. (3 January, 1867 – 18 December, 1919) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Horne was born in Drinkstone, the son of Reverend F. Horne.[1]
Horne was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1890.[2]
Horne was promoted to the rank of Commander on 26 June, 1902.[3]
Horne was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 3 January, 1913.[4]
Horne was appointed in command of the Scottish Coast Guard District in 1918, in the acting rank of Captain. He was superseded on 14 June 1919 and promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 26 June, 1917.
Horne committed suicide by shooting himself "whilst of unsound mind."[5]
