H.M.S. Coquette was one of nine Ariel Class composite gunboats completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

In mid-1872, she was active on the Cape of Good Hope and West Coast of Africa.[3]

Re-commissioned at Malta on 1 February, 1875.[4]

Re-commissioned at Malta on 1 February, 1883.[5]
