Service
She and Tartar were delivered to the dockyard authorities at Sheerness upon their arrival from Glasgow on 4 December, 1886 to be completed for seagoing service.[7]
Arrived at Singapore in early December, 1896 in company with Centurion, the T.B.Ds. Alacrity, Handy and Hart.[8] By the nineteenth, the ships had moved on for Hong Kong, less Alacrity.[9]
In August, 1901, she was sent from Portsmouth to Sheerness Dockyard to refit.[10]
