H.M.S. Rupert was an ironclad ram completed for the Royal Navy in 1874.

Design and Construction

Service

Re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 27 August 1885 to replace the Repulse as Ship of First Reserve in the Coast Guard Service at Hull.[6]
