Henry Cecil Carr

Commander Henry Cecil Carr, R.N. (28 August, 1872 – 11 March, 1915) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Carr was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1894.[1]

On 3 September, 1898 Carr was appointed to Tamar additional for command of Sandpiper on the China Station. He was superseded on 3 September, 1901.[2]

Carr was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1905.[3]

Carr was appointed in command of the third class protected cruiser Psyche on 16 September, 1911.[4]

Carr was killed with almost 200 of his crew when his command, the armed merchant cruiser Bayano, was torpedoed in the North Channel by U 27.[5]
