Lewis Tobias Loftus Jones

Captain (retired) Lewis Tobias Loftus Jones (25 September, 1878 – 18 September, 1952) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Vice-Admiral Jones was born in Ryde, S.W. and gained eight months' time on passing out of Britannia in July, 1894.

Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in October, 1900.

Jones was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1913.[1]

Acting Captain Jones was appointed in command of the battleship Venerable on 19 June, 1918.[2]

Jones was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 1 December, 1924.
