Richard Penrose Humpage

Rear-Admiral (retired) Richard Penrose Humpage, R.N. (13 May, 1847 – 2 December, 1919) served in the Royal Navy.[1]

Life & Career

Humpage entered the service with the December 1860 intake term at Britannia, his examination scores ranking him fourteenth of thirty-four candidates accepted for naval cadetships.[2]

Humpage was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 22 October, 1870.

Humpage was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1885.

Humpage was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1893.

Humpage was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 13 June, 1901. He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral (retired) on 16 February, 1905. In 1909-10, he was in the South of France.
