Rupert St. Aubyn Malleson
Captain Rupert St. Aubyn Malleson, A.F.C. (10 September, 1899 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of army Colonel G. K. Malleson.[1]
During the war, he served in the battleship Lord Nelson and the destroyer Vehement. At the very end of the war, he was appointed to C 30 and E 39.[2]
Malleson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1919. He probably commanded a submarine in 1921, but I cannot make out its name.[3]
In 1924, he was granted a temporary commission as a Flying Officer in the R.A.F.. He was a flying officer in 404 Flight, borne in Furious from 21 May 1925. On 25 March 1927, he was given command of 402 Flight, borne in Eagle.[4]
Malleson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1927.[5]
Malleson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1932.[6]
World War II
Malleson was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the War Service Rank of Captain on 10 September, 1949.[7]
