Captain Thomas Leslie Thorpe-Doubble, R.N. (4 March, 1871 – 5 March, 1942) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Thorpe-Doubble was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1893.[1]

Thorpe-Doubble was promoted to the rank of Commander in December 1903. In January 1904, Captain John Casement of H.M.S. Amphion would note that Thorpe-Doubble was "not robust" – a description seemingly supported by several appointments over his career that would end in his being invalided. In February 1907, he suffered a nervous breakdown.[2]

Thorpe-Doubble was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 5 June, 1920.[3]
