Commander William Barrington May (25 August, 1858 – 17 February, 1900) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
In July, 1871, May was ranked third in order of merit of thirty-five candidates accepted as Naval Cadets following the entrance examinations.[1]
May was appointed to the Coastguard on 6 December, 1898 and re-appointed on 1 April, 1899. He was still employed in this capacity when he committed suicide at 4.50pm on 17 February, 1900 while of "unsound mind."
