Vice-Admiral John Derwent Allen, C.B., A.D.C. (28 March, 1875 – 23 May, 1958) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Allen was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 June, 1896.[1]
Allen was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1906.[2]
Allen was appointed in command of the yacht Enchantress on 10 November, 1913[3] and promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December.[4]
Allen was appointed in command of the heavy cruiser Kent in September, 1914.[5]
Allen was appointed in command of the armoured cruiser Antrim on 13 January, 1920.[6]
