Vice-Admiral Lawrence Walter Braithwaite (18 July, 1878 – 18 January 1961) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Life & Career
While serving as a Sub-Lieutenant with Endymion in China, he was wounded on 22 June 1900 near Hsiku.
He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 9 November, 1900.[1]
Braithwaite was promoted to Captain on 31 December, 1917.
In June 1919, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Highflyer.[2]
He was appointed in command of the light cruiser H.M.S. Ajax in April 1925.[3]
He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral while on the retired list.
