Vice-Admiral (retired) SIR Geoffrey Thistleton-Smith, G.M., C.B. (10 May, 1905 – 1986) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Thistleton-Smith was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1927.[1]
He was awarded the Ogilvy Medal.
Thistleton-Smith was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1935.[2]
World War II
Thistleton-Smith was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1939.[3]
Thistleton-Smith was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1944.[4]
Thistleton-Smith was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 7 January, 1954.[5]
Thistleton-Smith was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Vice-Admiral on 30 December, 1960.[6]
