Captain Sholto Grant Douglas, C.B.E, R.N., Retired (12 February, 1867 – 7 February, 1956) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Douglas was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1891.
Douglas was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Commander on 12 February, 1912.
Douglas was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) in recognition of war services on 11 November, 1918.
Douglas worked in Transport capacities in Southampton and Liverpool from the outbreak of war through the end of 1915, becoming the Naval Transport Officer, Middlesboro on 4 October, 1916. On 8 February, 1917 he was appointed D.N.T.O., Glasgow. He served there until November, 1919, being awarded C.B.E. (m) for services as D.N.T.O., Glasgow, gazetted 4 July, 1919.
