Commander (retired) Vivian John Voelcker, (14 December, 1897 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of E. W. Voelcker, analytical chemist of Kensington.

Voelcker passed out of the Training Establishment in August, 1914. After three months in the destroyer Isis, he was appointed to join the new battleship Cornwallis upon her completing. On 22 September 1916 he was appointed to the sweeping sloop Veronica.

He took a week-long Torpedo Course at H.M.S. Vernon in August 1917.

Voelcker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1918.

Voelcker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1926.

Voelcker was promoted to the rank of Commander on 39 June, 1932.

World War II

Medically unfit, Voelcker was reverted to the Retired List with the War Service rank of Captain on 31 July, 1948.
