Life & Career
The son of Walter John Llewellyn, J.P. of County Down.
His first service was in St. George at the Cape of Good Hope from 21 August 1895 to April 1897 when he was appointed to Victorious in the Channel Squadron. In July, he moved over to the battleship Magnificent.
Llewellyn was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1900.

On 2 February 1906 he was admitted to Osborne Convalescent Home.
Appointed to the old Centurion as gunnery officer on 29 May 1906.
Appointed to Hindustan as Lieutenant (G) on 2 July, 1907.[2] He was superseded in this role on 28 January, 1908. His earlier hospitalisation may have involved an injury to his ears, as his Service Record notes that he was no longer able to tolerate gunfire after an operation.
An appointment to Impregnable was considered, but he was instead placed on the Retired List as unfit on 20 March, 1908, Llewellyn was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 1 August, 1908. He received a gratuity of £182 in compensation for his hearing loss.
Llewellyn was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 14 December, 1919 and to the rank of Captain (retired) on 1 November, 1927.
