Lieutenant Francis Elliott Walters, R.N. (23 April, 1871 – 8 October, 1899) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Colonel Walters of Liverpool.

Walters was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1893.[1]

He enjoyed three brief T.B.D. commands beginning in August 1898, but he went missing when he was in command of Ardent along with an Engineer named A. Baker on 8 October 1899. They had departed Ardent in a boat and a squall had kicked up. Some time later, the boat they had been in was found on a shore, but the men were never located. The Admiralty presumed their boat had capsized and that they had died.[2][3]
