H.M.S. Westcott was one of twenty-one "W" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.
Service
Westcott was commissioned on 2 April, 1918.[8]
She was re-commissioned at Port Edgar on 27 September, 1923 to serve with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla as part of the Atlantic Fleet.[9]
The destroyer re-commissioned at Devonport on 2 May, 1926 for service with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla as part of the Atlantic Fleet.[10]
Westcott was re-commissioned at Devonport on 27 April, 1931 for continued service with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla.[11] She remained with them into at mid-1934 after that formation became attached to Home Fleet, being re-commissioned at Devonport on 18 April, 1933.[12]
Re-commissioned at Devonport on 2 October, 1936 for service with the Fourth Submarine Flotilla on the China Station.[13]
