Lieutenant Henry Holden Wilding, ( – 6 March, 1887) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Wilding was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 5 August, 1868. In 1869, he was reprimanded for the "unsatisfactory & reluctant way he gave evidence at Ct. Martial on Thomas M. Moffat, Nav Sub-Lieut. of Inconstant."[1]

He was appointed to Torch on 8 January, 1871. On 20 February 1872, he was himself tried by Court Martial for having placed Commander [illeg] of Torch under arrest. Wilding was "fully acquitted."[2]

In 1873, he was mentioned in despatches as having commanded boats during the Chama Expedition in the Ashanti War.[3]

Wilding died at Malta of a heart disease while en route back to England.
