Captain (retired) Gilbert Alfred Barratt, (30 August, 1892 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of W. E. Barratt, Esq., J.P..
Barratt was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1913. He served in Colossus from 25 November, 1913 through 1 December, 1915. A seven-month course in torpedoes at Vernon followed. On 30 August 1916 he was appointed to Leviathan as torpedo officer.[1]
Barratt was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1921.[2]
Barratt was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1926.[3]
Barratt was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 6 February, 1935 and promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 August, 1937.[4]
