Lieutenant-Commander George Ernest Blackmore, D.S.C., O.B.E. (29 June, 1878 – 9 July, 1933) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Tavistock, Devon.
Blackmore was promoted to the rank ofGunner 29 October, 1903.
Blackmore was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 7 May, 1918 in recognition of gallantry in action.
He started work in Boom Defence from 1920.
Blackmore was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 7 May, 1926.
He was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 29 June, 1933 and died just ten days later.
