Commander (retired) Thomas Bennett Brunton, D.S.C.* (27 August, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy, after transferring in from the Royal Naval Reserve on 19 October, 1916.
Life & Career
Brunton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 27 November, 1918.
Brunton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 27 November, 1926.
World War II
Brunton was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander on 27 August, 1941.
He was awarded his D.S.C. for bravery, endurance and devotion to duty in North African waters in 1943. His bar to the medal was for his work during the Normandy landing operations.
