Captain (retired) Nelson Clover, (5 January, 1888 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Clover was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1910.

Clover would serve in the battleship Benbow for the entire war.

Clover was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1918.

In 1922, he was loaned to the Royal Australian Navy for two years, during which time he had to act as the executive officer of the light cruiser Melbourne during the illness of her Commander.

Clover was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1924.

Clover was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 5 January, 1934.

World War II

In 1940, he was placed in command of the yacht Corsair, vice Wheeler.
