Lieutenant Harry Edgecombe, (2 March, 1894 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Edgecombe was promoted to the rank of Gunner (T) on 1 July, 1924.
Despite having failed to promptly notify the bridge or to drop a marking buoy following the loss of a 21-in torpedo from H.M.S. Walker on 28 March, 1934, Edgecombe was promoted to the rank of Command Gunner (T) on 1 July, 1934.[1]
In 1936 he was suffering from bronchitis. He would repeat occasional hospitalisation for this condition into at least 1943, and have to be invalided from the Mediterranean station for it in 1938.[2]
World War II
Edgecombe was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 19 October, 1942. He was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 2 March, 1944.[3]
Reverted to the Retired List as medically unfit on 27 February, 1948.[4]
