Captain Edgar Guy Hudson Gamble, R.N., Retired (3 June, 1865 – 24 April, 1936) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Florence, Italy the son of D. P. Gamble, Esq..
Gamble was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1888.
Gamble was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1901.
Gamble was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 1 June, 1912.
On 29 July 1914, Gamble appointed to Liverpool to help in fitting out Armed Merchant Cruisers. He was superseded due to illness on 6 May, 1915, but on 26 October 1916 was sent back to assist the Captain Superintending the Equipment of Armed Merchant Cruisers, remaining there until April, 1917. He was then place in command of the old battleship Canopus.
