Captain Frederick John Butler Gibson, O.B.E., R.N., Retired (11 September, 1882 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Gibson's father was Reverend Herbert Favell Gibson. Gibson gained seven months' time on passing out of Britannia.
Gibson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1903.
Gibson obtained a 4th class certificate in surveying in February, 1903. He would ascend through 3rd and 2nd class until obtaining a first class certificate on 1 June, 1911.
Gibson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1911.
Gibson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1917.
