Lieutenant-Commander (retired) Frederick Edwin Charles Hurst (23 January, 1871 – 1 October, 1948) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career
Hurst was promoted to the rank of Gunner on 29 November, 1897.
Hurst was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner on 29 November, 1912.
Hurst was appointed in command of the destroyer Angler on 16 December, 1913.[1]
In 1915, Hurst was cautioned regarding a collision between Wizard and T.B. 109.
Between April 1915 and February 1916, he served in the armed merchant cruiser H.M.S. Digby. The remainder of his wartime appointments are obliterated by a tear in his service record, but he appears to have commanded a diving tender named Raven.
Post-War
Hurst was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 July, 1919.
Hurst was placed on the Retired List owing to age on 12 August, 1922.
Hurst was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on the Retired List on 31 July, 1927.
His death in 1948 was due, in minor part, to senility.
